It seems like everyone on MySpace is in a race to win a popularity contest. Conversations revolve around bragging rights of who has added more friends in the past day. Some eccentrics are watching their list like stock tickers. *sigh*
Me, I’m not exactly a bandwagoner on the matter. I’m not here to make a million friends. I’d rather just enjoy the ones I do have. I’m not anti-social, just more concerned with keeping a few great friends than making new ones.
My friend list here mostly comprises of peeps I’ve already known outside of MySpace. In fact, the main reason why I joined was because damn near everybody had one. It’s not that I didn’t want to be left out, I was more curious about why everybody was on myspace. Well, I’m here, and it’s basically an upgrade to black planet to me. Now, I do enjoy the music, the unprecedented exposure for independent music, artists, and bands to a global audience. Getting back to my friend list, I have made a few new friends on here, and added a few artists whose music I like and want to support. Ironically, my favorite group on the list has actually “unfriended” me last week *ouch*. If Didleysquat drops me next, I’m gonna develop a complex *LOL*. Most of everyone on my list I correspond with on a regular basis. If I lose touch, I bump the person down a few notches. The more I communicate with someone, the higher up on the list they go. Note the two MySpacers at the top share the same bathroom with me every day. Can’
t get any closer than that.
So, put yer runnin shoes on and catch up to the pack in the friendlist marathon! Show the world that you can easily get more friends in virutal reality than in real life. Collect and trade your friends like pokemon sets. If you’re still hanging around reading this, you may have just missed a chance to add at least three more! Time’s a tickin!
